Founded back in 2007 in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden, MORBUS CHRON clearly appears as one
of the best traditional death metal acts around.
After a self-titled confidential demo recorded in 2009, the band started to get some attention after
the release of their second demo tape “Splendour Of Disease”. This second demo lead to a first 7”
EP which was released on Detest Records / Me Saco Un Ojo Records and now appears as the turning
point of the band’s career. This progression was later confirmed by the release of the band’s first
album entitled “Sleepers In The Rift”. Often picked up as one of the best death metal releases in
2011, this album stands out as a perfect mix between classic influences such as Autopsy and the
band’s unique and fascinating personality.
Willing to push things further, the band inked a deal with Century Media Records in early 2012 and
entered the studio to record three new tracks with Fred Estby. Those three new tracks will appear
on the “A Saunter Through The Shroud” 10” vinyl and are a first sign of life prior to the release of
the band’s second album which will be unleashed via Century Media Records in 2013. “A Saunter
Through The Shroud” will be released on time with MORBUS CHRON’s live show at the Hell’s
Pleasure festival taking place from July 19th
to 21st, 2012 in Pößneck, East Germany.
