The Emperor is back! Alright, calm down. It’s not like there’s a new album coming. But it has been 20 years since their debut full-length was released, and it is nice to see the In the Nightside Eclipse lineup reunited in 2014. Ihsahn, Samoth & Faust will perform the album in its entirety as headline artists at summer festivals across Europe. Sweden Rock Festival (in Sweden on June 7th), Hellfest Open Air (in France on June 22nd), Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (in Finland on June 29th), Wacken Open Air (in Germany on August 1st & 2nd) & Bloodstock Festival (in the UK on August 9th) is on the schedule, along with a 20th anniversary edition of In the Nightside Eclipse. It’s a bit unclear to me when the different versions are out, but it seems like most are released on May 26th via Candlelight Records. The t-shirt/CD bundle, double disc & double disc + bonus tribute album can be ordered now, and according to Candlelight’s Facebook page, this release will also be available on vinyl at some point.

This anniversary edition is presented in deluxe hardback digibook packaging with restored cover artwork, and featuring rare archive pictures and content. Disc 1 on the double CD release features the original tracks + the 1994 As the Shadows Rise EP, both remastered. Disc 2 is the 1993 alternative album mix taken from the previously unreleased Akkerhaugen Tapes 1993. There’s also a lmt edition that comes with a bonus tribute album.

Al fin se reedita esta joya maldita del black de los 90. El PERO de esta reedición es que no consideraron los covers de Bathory y de Mercyful Fate pero a la xuxa se ve genial y estoy que pido mi copia.
